Nordex lands order from Ukraine

The German manufacturer will be supplying yet another shipment of big wind turbines to a project in a conflict-stricken Ukrainian province near Crimea. Development is supported by a Danish fund.

German wind turbine manufacturer Nordex has landed an order for the second stage of Ukrainian wind farm Syvash. After receiving a 132.6 MW order for the facility in February, another 113.1 MW order entailing 29 units of the model N131/3900 is now placed for the project. Syvash will have a combined capacity of 245.7 MW and is set to enter operation next year, Nordex informs in a statement.

Beyond being Nordex' first Ukrainian order, the installation will also become the country's largest wind farm. There is nothing immediately remarkable about the Syvash project, which involves several national interests of various types.
