New York approves Res Americas' 100 MW wind farm

US developer Res Americas has received an establishment license for a wind farm deploying 29 Vestas turbines.

In late December, British Res' US subsidiary Res Americas commissioned its first New York State wind farm, and a follow-up now appears set after the New York Public Service Commission granted approval to the developer's 100.5 MW project, Ball Hill Wind Energy, in the state's westernmost county, Chautauqua.

Just as the case with the developer's first wind farm in New York, Copenhagen Wind Project, Vestas is nominated to supply the equipment. According to the facility's zoning documents, Ball Hill will consist of 29 wind turbines of the model V126-3.45.
