Major future potential for power-to-gas – using existing biogas plants

Power-to-gas is most cost-efficient if the technology is implemented on existing biogas plants, determine two researchers who have investigated the potential in Denmark. "Really big," is the conclusion.

It has already been determined how Denmark can produce cost-efficient plants with power-to-gas (P2G) – and where.

55 biogas plants fit the description, according to a report by two researchers from Aalborg University in Denmark. Based on a GIS (geographical information system) model, the researchers have found suitable places for establishing P2G in Denmark.
