Nordex: Now we are in the top four

The manufacturer banks on improved sales margins for its new wind turbines but expects the same sales prices this year. Despite the company's projections for massive late-year activity, it will not build up its inventories.

An order intake of roughly 3.6 GW did not play end up playing a central role when Nordex presented its 2018 annual financial statement on Tuesday. And that is quite understandable, given the report's red bottom line figures and a 20 percent decline in revenue. However, the German company also makes the perennial point about looking toward the future and thus is already able to work itself into a state of optimism.

"You remember two years ago when we shared with you our plan, we had the ambition to become the top-four global player of choice. I think being sizable and being global is a license to play to be perceived as a sustainable supplier in the customer community. I think we achieved that," José Luis Blanco says in teleconference presentation of the report, adding:
