Analyst: Viking Link is a huge project and might relax price squeeze

The subsea interconnector Viking Link could have a major impact on players in the cable market. Even if companies such as NKT miss out on a piece of the pie they will be able to feel it, because it will still play a role in taking pressure off squeezed prices, assesses analyst.

The large subsea interconnector Viking Link, which UK authorities approved last week, is a major project, assesses ABG Sundal Collier analyst Casper Blom.

The interconnector will be built between the UK and Denmark, and it might entail a huge order for Danish cable manufacturer NKT – and even if that does not occur, it will nonetheless have a positive effect on the cable sector's prices.
