Forecast sees solar panels hit a record year

An analyst firm predicts that the total capacity of new solar farms will break all previous records this year and exceed 100 GW.

After a turbulent year for the global solar panel industry, 2019 is shaping up to set a new record.

Energy analyst firm Wood Mackenzie forecasts that 103 GW in new solar energy capacity will be installed during 2019. That would be the first time ever that one year's installations surpass 100 GW.
