Three companies have placed bids in New Jersey's first offshore wind auction, informs the state's Board of Public Utilities after the Dec. 31 deadline for placing bids for the available volume of up to 1,100 MW. The auction's final result is expected to be announced during the spring.
"The board is extremely excited to receive these solicitations. New Jersey has regained its place as a leader when it comes to clean, renewable energy and offshore wind power is a major component in taking us there," writes New Jersey Board of Public Utilities President Joseph L. Fiordaliso in the press release.
