A series of suppliers have secured hard-won Christmas presents from Vatttenfall after the utility made its final financial decision regarding Danish offshore wind farm Kriegers Flak on Thursday and started to distribute contracts.
One of the recipients is Danish turbine manufacturer Bladt Industries, which is selected to supply 72 transition pieces (TPs) for the coming offshore wind farm. Inter-array cables connecting the wind turbines will be supplied by British JDR Cable Systems and will be installed by UK-based Global Marine, while Dutch Van Oord will install the foundations. Aside from Bladt's TPs, monopiles have also been ordered from German company EEW.
