Final decision taken on next Danish offshore wind farm

The day after the Danish government's announcement that the successor of Kriegers Flak is being considered as the country's next offshore wind farm, Vattenfall makes its final investment decision on the first 600 MW.

This week, the Danish Ministry of Energy announced possible sites for Denmark's next offshore wind farm, which will be constructed adjacent to either Vesterhav Syd or Kriegers Flak, two existing facilities in the North Sea and in the Baltic Sea south-southeast of Copenhagen, respectively.

If the decision ends up being the Baltic, the future wind farm is now sure to get a neighbor. Vattenfall has taken its final investment decision and signed a conclusive power purchase agreement (PPA) on Kriegers Flak, meaning that a capacity of 600 MW is planned to be in full operation before the end of 2021.
