Vestas pushes tariff bill onward to customers

US steel tariffs will have less of an impact on Vestas because the wind turbine manufacturer has passed on the bill to customers.

US president Donald Trump's tariffs on imported steel could have been painful for Vestas Wind Systems, but the wind turbine giant has successfully pushed the bill onward to its customers, says Chris Brown,  president for North America at Vestas, at the company's capital markets day Thursday.

"The tariffs have hit us, but we have successfully pushed them on to the customer. These are uncomfortable negotiations with the customers, but it is something that we need to do," he said.
