The French offshore wind industry finally appears to be gaining some momentum. The country's government has approved two offshore wind farms, Nourmoutier and Le Tréport, reports AFP.
Both projects, long underway, each have a capacity rating of 496 MW and will be installed using 62 wind turbines from Siemens Gamesa. The projects were allocated in 2014 in the second French offshore wind tender, however, both extensive resistance to the projects and later regarding the price put a considerable delay on the approval.
