Siemens Gamesa goes forward in order intake

Siemens Gamesa' earnings took a big dive in 2018 yet did perform better than analysts had projected. Offshore wind turbines played a large role.

Despite a turbulent year and a sustained, industry-wide price squeeze as well as uncertain political frameworks on the global market, Siemens Gamesa had a fine year measured in order intake, thanks to consistent low prices on wind energy, shows the company's annual financial statement for the staggered fiscal year, published Tuesday morning.

Revenue landed at EUR 9.12 billion against the forecast EUR 9.27 billion, while adjusted earnings before interest and taxes tallied to EUR 693 million relative to the expected EUR 660.6 million.
