Siemens CEO pulls out of Saudi prestige conference due to Khashoggi murder

Yet another leading CEO has canceled their attendance at a Saudi Arabian investment conference due to the assassination of journalist Jamal Khashoggi.

The Group CEO of industry giant Siemens joins several leading executives in pulling out of a major investor conference in Saudi Arabia starting Thursday.

Siemens CEO Joe Kaeser wrote on Twitter and LinkedIn Monday that he will not be flying to the Saudi Arabian capital Riyadh to participate in  "The Future Investment Initiative" (FII) in response to the suspected murder of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi by the Saudi Arabian government. After changing the official explanation for Khashoggi's disappearance on several occasions, Saudi authorities have now admitted that Khashoggi died in the country's consulate in Istanbul on Oct. 2.
