Analyst sees Siemens Gamesa management reshuffle as welcome news – for competitors

Even though Siemens Gamesa is taking many appropriate measures, yet another executive reshuffle is a distraction for the turbine manufacturer, says bank analyst.

As of Dec. 1, Siemens Gamesa will de facto be operating with its third executive management team since its inception with the April 2016 merger of Siemens Wind Power and Gamesa. Last October, the company's CFO, CEO of offshore wind and general secretary were rotated. Siemens Gamesa announced a similar extensive reshuffle Tuesday morning.

Current board chair Rosa Garcia is being replaced by the company's chief financial officer, Miguel Ángel López. His role will pass on to David Mesonero, who has presided over the manufacturer's development, strategy and merger. Furthermore, Ricardo Chocarro will no longer serve as chief executive officer of Siemens Gamesa's onshore wind division and he will be temporarily replaced by the company's CEO for Global Service, Mark Albenze.
