Total awards contract for Tyra

Dutch firm awarded a "reasonable" contract for the reconstruction of the sinking gas field in the Danish North Sea.

The reconstruction of Tyra is now beginning to take concrete form. Total E&P Denmark has awarded one of the world's largest maritime service companies, Boskalis, a contract for "Tyra Redevelopment Subsea Installation Phase II." According to the press release from Boskalis, the contract involves underwater engineering, acquisitions, production and installation on the reconstruction of the struggling gas field.

Boskalis will deliver several services including moving and connecting subsea cables. Prior to the project execution the work will be partly carried out from the firm's headquarters in Papendrecht, partly from Aberdeen in Scotland and partly from Esbjerg in Denmark.
