German Nordex has received a turnkey order of 81 MW from French developer Neoen. The developer has ordered 18 turbines from the German company's 4 MW platform, which will make up the Finnish farm Hedet, and will used to power one of Google's data centers. Once the turbines have been put into operation, the manufacturer will be in charge of maintenance for 15 years.
However, the turbines are not only big in terms of capacity. With a diameter of 149 meters, they are also the largest turbines in Nordex's current catalog, and although the Germans completed the installation of the first of these turbines, known under the name N149/4.0-4.5, back in August, this is the first order of a larger quantity.
