Large offshore wind turbines may play a role in the future of the shipping industry, which will be refitting its vessels with climate-friendly solutions over the coming decades.

Deep sea vessels are particularly tough to adapt to a greener future because the long distances they sail make electrification untenable. However, this may change in the future, writes DNV GL in a report on the maritime industry forecast to 2050.
