Warren Buffett buys billion-dollar wind farm upgrade

Major  investor Warren Buffett has started one the most extensive wind-farm repowering orders to ever take place in the US.

US-based big investor Warren Buffett will through his energy sector holding company PacifiCorp invest up to USD 1 billion in repowering the company's turbines in two western US states, Washington and Wyoming, reports Rechargenews.

The repowering of 11 wind farms , corresponding to 898 MW capacity, is one the largest examples of its kind in the US, where owners replace older, and spent components with new and technologically-upgraded parts, thus extending life-cycles without needed to replace an entire unit.
