Shell tempted by upcoming Brazilian wind tenders

Shell will look more closely at possibilities for bidding on the upcoming energy auctions in Brazil with a bid that could end up covering both wind and solar.

Global oil and gas giant Shell is tempted by the Brazilian market's potential – and not just within oil and gas, according to comments from the company's Brazil manager, André Araújo, according to industry media Recharge.

"Brazilian society needs energy, and as a global company we are exploring possibilities, and there are people [in our company] looking at the option of participating in the tender," Araújo told reporters after presenting the company’s Sky scenario for 2070 in Rio de Janeiro, reports Recharge.
