Ørsted to install demo project in Virginia

Danish utility and offshore wind developer Ørsted has submitted an application to install a 12 MW demo offshore wind farm project off the coast of Virgina.

Together with US utility Dominion Energy, Ørsted has applied for permission to install the demo project Coastal Virgina Offshore Wind, Dominion Energy informs in a press statement.

The project will be comprised of two 6 MW wind turbines with grid connection, the statement informs. Meanwhile, Ørsted has reportedly hired the vessel Gerry Bordelonto from US-based marine transportation service company Bordelon Marine to conduct geophysical surveys of the project site.
