Buffett gets approval for wind energy expansion

US energy company PacifiCorp, owned by billionaire Warren Buffett, has received approval from the two remaining states and will now begin the next phase of its Energy Vision strategy, which will require EUR 2.5 billion in investment.

PacifiCorp has succeed in securing approval from the remaining two states, and the company will now begin a considerable expansion of its wind energy portfolio.

Approval from Idaho and Utah will allow PacifiCorp to get started on three wind farm projects in Wyoming at a total capacity of 1,150 MW, to simultaneously repower 900 MW in existing capacity in Wyoming and Washington as well as installing a 225 kilometer 500kV transmission cable.
