Where previously Danish cable manufacturer NKT was concerned about a lack of capacity utilization towards the end of the current year, a new order worth DKK 1.1 billion (EUR 150 million) will see its capacity better utilized.

"With the order, we can resolve some of the problems we had foreseen for the end of 2018 and going into 2019 – in other words securing more visibility. We have long hoped for more to do – especially at our Karskrona factory. Part of this contact with Ørsted is also that we can start producing these cables quickly. Therefore, it provides good visibility into 2019 in particular," says Michael Hedegaard Lyng, CEO of NKT, to Danish media bureau Ritzau Finans.
