New Jersey delays New York's offshore wind

The Governor of New Jersey has requested to extend a consultation deadline by six months for potential offshore wind areas in a bay adjacent to New York.

New Jersey or New York are among the US states with the biggest offshore wind ambitiions. Under democratic governor Phil Murphy, who took on the post at the beginning of the year, New Jersey announced a 3.5 GW target in April in 2030, which trumps the 2.4 GW target set by New York governor Andrew Cuomo at the end of last year.
