GE acquires 470 MW in the US

The turbine manufacturer will deliver 190 turbines to two projects in the US and at the same time passes a 40 GW milestone in domestic capacity – if everything goes as planed.

CHICAGO

GE has landed two projects totaling 470 MW. GE will install two wind projects along with the US-based utilities company Alliant Energy. The two projects located in Iowa State are English Farms at 170 MW and Upland Prairie at 300 MW. Both projects will be composed of turbines from GE's 2MW platform, where, aside from 2.3-116 and 2.5-116, "more than 50" of the latest type, 2.5-127, will also be installed.
