Europe invested EUR 51.2 billion in wind in 2017

The total volume of investments in wind energy increased in 2017, but when it comes to new wind projects, there was a decline of 19 percent relative to the previous year, shows a new report.

A total of EUR 51.2 billion was invested in wind energy in 2017, an increase of approximately 9 percent relative to the previous year, according to a new report from WindEurope.

The many billions have been distributed for the development of new wind projects, the refinancing of existing wind farms and the acquisition of projects or companies involved in wind, as well as fundraising on the public market.
