Vestas: Siemens Gamesa order is no threat

While Siemens Gamesa has won the order for the Wind XI major project, where Vestas has a conditional agreement, the Danish manufacturer expects to remain the major supplier.

Siemens Gamesa's order win Tuesday for the US project Wind XI, says Vestas. In 2016, the Danish manufacturer entered a conditional agreement with developer MidAmerican Energy for the sale of 1, 000 turbines, and thus total capacity for the 2 GW project.

"Vestas' original agreement is still in place, and as announced we expect to deliver the majority of the turbines to the up to the 2,000 MW Wind XI project," says the turbine manufacturer to EnergyWatch.
