Global investments in renewable energy took a dive in the first quarter 2018, according to figures from Bloomberg New Energy Finance (BNEF).
In the first three months of this year, a total of USD 61 billion was invested in solar panels, wind turbines, biomass and similar energy infrastructure, which corresponds to a decline of around 10 percent relative to the same period in 2017. The number also marks a small decline from the fourth quarter, which is the usual development with the exception of the transition to 2017.
