Australia approves giant 1 GW wind project

Australia's hitherto largest wind farm could soon become a reality. The farm will be built in New South Wales, but a turbine supplier has not yet been nominated.

The large turbine manufacturers may do well to spend some extra money on flights to Australia, if they want to join the race to build Australia's hitherto largest wind farm.

New South Wales has just approved the 1,000 MW Liverpool Range Wind Farm, which will replace several outdated coal-fired power stations in the state.
