Vestas chairman willing to sacrifice margins for leading spot

In the battle against GE and Siemens Gamesa, Bert Nordberg is prepared to let Vestas' profit margin slide.

Vestas Chairman Bert Nordberg will fight hard to maintain the company's position as the world's largest turbine supplier, and he is willing to sacrifice the company's profit margin if necessary, he says in an interview with Ritzau Finans after the company's general assembly held in Aarhus, Denmark on Thursday.

"I am willing to sacrifice some of the margin to maintain the position," says Nordberg when directly asked how willing he would be to "use" some of the margins to secure orders and thus maintain the company's top spot in the global market.
