Athena boosted results in 2017 on sunshine and higher energy prices

All items grew for the Danish renewable energy investor Athena. Rising demand in Spain and Italy were major growth drivers.

Reasonable weather conditions and rising energy prices in Southern Europe helped boost results last year at Athena, formerly known as Greentech, an investor in renewable energy.

The 2017 report from the Danish investor, released Wednesday morning, reveals revenue of EUR 56 million compared to EUR 47 million the previous year. The bigger income contributed to lifting the company's operating profit before tax and depreciations (EBITDA) to EUR 39 million, up from EUR 30 million the year prior.
