The Netherlands wants 11.5 GW offshore wind by 2030

The Netherlands has an itch for offshore wind and now aims to bolster ambitions significantly ahead of 2030.

The government in the Netherlands has released plans for offshore wind expansion with the aim to cover 40 percent of Dutch energy consumption with offshore wind in 2030.

This would require wind turbines with total capacity of 11.5 GW to be installed at sea.
