Danish pension fund joins Nature Energy acquisition

The sale of Danish biogas company Nature Energy has been completed, and a Danish pension fund has become part of the new ownership consortium. The belief is that the investment can grow to become "Europe's largest producer of biogas."

Eight Danish municipalities are selling their shares in Danish gas company Nature Energy to British investment consortium Pioneer Point Partners, and the British investors will now be joined by a Danish partner.

The parties have entered into agreement for Danish pension fund Sampension to become part of the investor group in the transaction, which totals DKK 1.1 billion (EUR 147.7 million). The involvement of a Danish institutional investor was expected.
