Ørsted hires explosives specialist to look for bombs

The Danish energy company has teamed up with a British company to check selected projects for old undetonated mines and explosives.

It is probably not a good idea to construct an offshore wind farm on top of a mine or another type of undetonated explosive. For this reason, Ørsted has now hired British firm Ordtek to conduct surveys in the US and Taiwan, reports Windpower.

The company will be surveying selected areas in the US in relation to the projects Bay State Wind and Ocean Wind in Massachusetts and New Jersey.
