GE launches world's largest wind turbine

The US turbine manufacturer wants the first offshore wind turbine with double-digit capacity to hit the market in 2021.

US turbine maker GE has announced its newest offshore wind turbine. It has been dubbed Haliade-X and will boast capacity of 12 MW.

The machine will be equipped with LM Wind Power blades of 107 meters and produce 67 GWh electricity annually, announces GE, adding that this is 45 percent more "than any other offshore wind turbine available today".
