Germany follows up on historic tender

German authorities are offering 1.6 GW of offshore wind projects via tender, of which one third will be allocated projects in the Baltic Sea. The maximum price will be lowered by one sixth, but is still far above last year's winning prices.

Another edition of German offshore wind tenders is now kicking off. As previously announced, projects of up to 1,550 MW are being offered, while the remaining 60 MW left over from last year's tender is added on top, so totally capacity is 1,610 MW. Bidding formally opens on April 1 with an April 3 deadline, says Germany's Federal Network Agency, Bundesnetzagentur.

"With our tender, we secure a continued stable and effective development of wind power," says agency chairman Jochen Homann.
