Siemens Gamesa booked seven component orders last year

The wind turbine manufacturer has indicated US orders which could become more than 3 GW with the announcement of several component orders in 2017 triggered by the Safe Harbor provision.

Last year, Siemens Gamesa booked seven new orders of more than 300 MW in the US, announced the turbine manufacturer in a press release.

It may not sound like a lot at first, considering there were two US orders of 330 MW reported by the manufacturer last week. However, the seven orders make up a collection of new component orders, made so as to qualify the projects for 80 percent of the full PTC tax credit, provided that they are installed by the end of 2022 at the latest in accordance with the Safe Harbor provision.
