GIP completes largest acquisition to date

Asia's largest privately held renewable energy producer with more than 11 GW in operation has now been sold for USD 5 billion.

Global Infrastructure Partners (GIP) has completed the takeover of Equis Energy, announce the partners in a press release.

The acquisition of the Singapore-based company, which is Asia's largest independent power producer (IPP) in renewables, was closed at a price of USD 5 billion. Equis Energy has a portfolio of around 180 assets in hydro, wind and solar power with total capacity of 11,135 MW.
