Distressed GE is considering a breakup

After a horrible year in 2017, and with a new CEO at the helm, it could be time to break up the world's largest conglomerate.

It was once the world's most valuable company, and GE remains a global business heavyweight with 30,000 employees and 125 years of history.

However, this image of the company is now being seriously challenged. After a tough 2017, which saw the company shift CEO, launch large-scale divestments and slash its dividends, there are now serious considerations about splitting the company up, reports Wall Street Journal.
