Nordex' order intake dropped 20 percent in 2017

A strong end to the quarter, particularly in the US, reduced the decline for the German turbine manufacturer.

In US football, a Hail Mary is a move where the ball is is thrown desperately towards the goal shortly before the end of the match in an attempt to dodge defeat. Nordex could be said to have successfully pulled this move at the end of 2017.

With the three US orders totalling 820 MW, which Nordex announced Tuesday, the German company booked new orders totalling 1,598.6 MW in the fourth quarter, 12.5 percent more than the same period last year. Altogether, this was more than was booked in the first nine months of the year, which only saw 1,142.7 MW in fixed orders.
