Shell sells out of Dutch offshore wind project

An MHI Vestas project of around 700 MW is joined by a new key investor after the three largest consortium members cut their ownership stakes in half.

Borssele Beta is welcoming a new owner. Swiss investor Partners Group has taken over 45 percent of ownership in the consortium behind the project, Blauwind II, and will thus be the biggest partner.

No price was disclosed for the deal, in which Shell has divested half of its 40-percent stake, while the two other consortium partners, Mitsubishi subsidiary DGE and Eneco, are halving their stakes thus far of 30 and 20 percent, informs Partners Group, adding that Van Oord will keep its 10 percent.
