British firm to construct huge solar farm in Sahara

The vast desert in North Africa could become an important energy asset for Southern European energy consumers, says the UK company in the process of installing a solar farm with GW capacity.

A UK company will now throw itself into a valuable resource from the golden desert of the Sahara.

According to Power, TuNur has applied to the Tunisian authorities to install a 4.5 GW concentrated solar power system (CSP) in the desert with the aim to export a large share of the production to France, Italy and Malta.
