Trump lifts bird responsibility from the wind industry

Going forward, it will not be considered a violation of the law in the US if a bird is killed by a wind turbine.

US President Donald Trump is not known for his love of wind power, but despite initial fears of what a Trump presidency would mean for the wind turbine market in the US, the controversial president has so far been relatively unproblematic for the wind industry.

Along with the Senate and Congress, he began by extending the PTC tax credit for wind. Now, Trump is ready to give the industry another boost to start off the year, as he plans to change the interpretation of a law used by former President Barack Obama to protect migrating birds from wind turbines.
