AI will take control over wind and solar power

The development is inevitable. In just a few years, artificial intelligence will have taken over virtually all manual labor involved in wind and solar farms. Eventually, engineers behind renewable energy will have to prepare for tough competition from computers, says a global analyst agency.

The possibilities are endless when selecting a cup of coffee from the new machine at consultant firm DNV GL's Danish office north of Copenhagen. You can decide on the amount of milk, the number of beans, how much foam and so on. The process is proof of the countless choices presented to us by technology in everyday life. That doesn't mean we always make the right choice for ourselves - what if you end up with a cappuccino rather than the black coffee you originally wanted?

But perhaps the next time DNV GL sets up a new coffee machine, it will be equipped with artificial intelligence (AI) and will thus be able to predict exactly which type of coffee the drinker would prefer.
