Vestas has injected huge sums into its own farms

Vestas became owner of a series of wind farms in Central Europe under the company's former CEO and chairman, and these wind turbines cost the firm dearly in 2017.

An investment decision made 7 years ago left a gap which has proven costly for Vestas to fill, reports Danish media Børsen.

In 2017, Vestas injected more than DKK 2 billion (EUR 269 million) in its subsidiary Wind Power Invest, which covers ownership shares in projects including wind farms in Romania, reports the media. The DKK 2 billion were spent buffering Wind Power Invest, as Vestas has increased the capital of the subsidiary three times this year, most recently on Dec. 20, according to Børsen's information.
