New project will measure wind performance in record time

An innovation fund has invested millions of Danish kroner in a new technology which helps to carry out wind assessment at a record-high pace.

Armed with a new technology, DTU Wind Energy (DTU Vindenergi) will shorten the time it takes to carry out wind resource assessments for new wind farms.

The new project, Recast, will use WindScanner technology to carry out assessments in one place between three to four months, in contrast with today, where wind assessment takes one year.
