Danish wind service firm sold to UK energy company

Danish wind service company Alpha Offshore Service A/S has been bought by UK energy group Sparrows Group.

Another Danish wind service supplier has been absorbed by a bigger player with the sale of Alpha Offshore Service A/S, which specializes in wind turbine installation and maintenance.

While many others in the industry have been bought up by capital funds chasing efficiency and economies of scale, Alpha Offshore Service has been bought by a fellow industry player – British company Sparrows Group, which supplies equipment and services to the energy sector. Sparrows already delivers central equipment to the wind industry, and according to the company, the deal will strengthen the group's total capacity and competences within project development, operations and maintenance.
