The nascent offshore wind market in Taiwan is poised to take off. The Taiwanese government recently upgraded its already-ambitious target for its renewables expansion from 3 GW to at least 5.5 GW by 2025.
This has prompted many industry players to turn their gaze towards the Southeast Asian country. Not only developers and turbine manufacturers, but also major suppliers such as Danish foundation manufacturer Bladt, which last week signed a partnership deal with the two steel producers in Taiwan Century Wind Power and CSBC Corporation.
