Siemens Gamesa lands historic Danish order

Vattenfall has ordered 133 of the wind turbine manufacturer's largest turbines for three Danish offshore wind farms. The Swedish utility hopes that Denmark will decide on more offshore wind farms in the first half of the 2020s.

Vattenfall has chosen Siemens Gamesa to supply turbines for three Danish offshore wind farms. The turbine manufacturer will deliver 113 of its 8 MW turbines to Kriegers Flak and the two coastal farms Vesterhav Syd and Vesterhav Nord. The order is for a total 955 MW, states the Swedish utility.

"The investment in this state-of-the-art technology for our modern wind farms, contributes significantly to our goal of building more renewable energy according to our strategy," says Gunnar Groebler, Head of Vattenfall Wind and member of the Executive Group Management.
