Pension funds search for alternatives to wind

Returns on wind turbine investments are shrinking and this has prompted pension funds to seek alternative ways to get returns on energy, explain Danish funds in a survey conducted by FinansWatch and EnergyWatch among some of the country's largest pension players.

Solar, biogas and hydro power are growing in popularity at pension funds looking to invest in energy.

As the demand for wind turbines has risen, the returns on large wind farms have declined, inciting pension funds to look for alternatives, explain Danish pension funds in a survey conducted by EnergyWatch and sister site FinansWatch.
