Stock exchange downturn makes Vestas an acquisition target

Vestas' plummeting stock price and significant cash holdings mean that the company could be an attractive acquisition target, say analysts.

The combination of a share price decline of over 30 percent since August, strong earnings and burgeoning cash holdings make Vestas vulnerable to uninvited takeovers, say analysts.

"There needs to be more consolidation in this market. Will Vestas become an acquisition target, or will they lead the consolidation themselves? It's a good question," says Jeffrey Vonk, Vestas analyst at Morning Star.
